Nordic Expert Workshop on Knowledge Transfer from Universities and Public Research Institutes:
Strategic Approaches for Intellectual Property Management and Knowledge Flow

In co-location with the CIP FORUM 2011, an experts’ workshop on knowledge transfer practices of universities and public research organisations in Nordic countries will be held at the University of Gothenburg’s School of Business on Wednesday 1st June 2011. The workshop discussion will consider challenges, good practice and more systematic approaches in the transfer of knowledge.
The workshop supports the implementation of the European Commission’s Recommendation on the management of intellectual property in knowledge transfer activities and Code of Practice for universities and other public research institutions from 2008 (http://ec.europa.eu/invest-in-research/pdf/ip_recommendation_en.pdf). The event is part of a series of workshop discussions in the years 2011 and 2012 on behalf of the European Commission, General-Directorate Research and Innovation, covering a total of 39 European countries.
The event is aimed at knowledge transfer experts from universities, public research, transfer organisations, governmental organisations, business and business associations. Participation is by personal invitation and up to 100 participants are expected to attend.
