Early innovation in areas such bioscience, materials technology and ICT will increasingly be engine to drive wealth and welfare creation in the 21st century. Early innovation not only creates totally new market within e.g. regenerative medicine it also will affect established industries as new generic technologies within energy, information technology and materials are adopted.

Central in Early innovation is the changing nature of innovation from an industrial to a knowledge-based process where the management of intellectual assets, property, and capital takes center stage. The session will explore new innovation paradigms such as global research collaboration and building platforms to assure innovation and openness. To support these new forms of innovation we will discuss the importance of the need for a new infrastructure especially around universities that are adapted to knowledge-driven business creation.
